But what if we could test it? Well, we do have such a vehicle and that is the shuffle draft event. Recently, APP had a shuffle draft event. It was interesting, but of course the level of play was not on the level of PPA play. How about if we do a PPA shuffle draft event? 🎾πŸ”₯

Can Ben πŸ… capture his first singles gold of 2024 in Arizona? Dylan Frazier returns to singles. We will see if he can continue his excellent singles play. Once again, we will have classic matchups, with veteran pickleball players like Ben Johns, Tyson McGuffin, and Federico Staksrud, against the up-and-comers like Jaume Martinez Vich, Chris Haworth, and Gabe Joseph. The up-and-comers will be joined by Jack Sock. As we have seen, men’s singles have become extremely competitive, an event no longer dominated by Ben Johns. 🎾πŸ”₯

PPA’s Desert Ridge Open Weather Conditions 🌡🌦️

While Phoenix is one of the nicest places in the US to be in January/February, there is sometimes some rain and/or wind. β˜”πŸ’¨

The forecast is calling for a 50% chance of rain on both Thursday and Friday, with clouds on Saturday and Sunday. ☁️

Hopefully, the PPA Tour has an alternative indoor venue on standby, or else they may have to condense some of the brackets to ensure the entire tournament can go on. πŸ“πŸ†

The PPA’s regular season ends this week in Daytona
Who will qualify toΒ  for the end-of-the-season Tour Championship in San Clemente?
Men’s Singles ➑️ Dylan Frazier is on the outside, but not by much. Pablo Tellez sits in eighth place right now, just 300 points in front of him.
Mixed Doubles ➑️ Right now, Jade Kawamoto is in 17th place and she’ll need a good showing with partner Dekel Bar in Daytona. But watch out for Lacy Schneemann. She is playing with Zane Navratil. If Lacy and Zane can make a deep run, it might be enough for her to make up enough ground to move up from 18th place.
