“I was stuck in the U.S. after a tournament and couldn’t go back home. School was online so I was studying here. After a while, I could go back home, but I enjoyed training for pickleball for the first time and decided to stay in the U.S. I improved a lot during that year. The APP and PPA tours started and some money came in and that’s when I decided to play full-time.”, said Dekel.

Haworth got the benefit of a few shots that hit the net cord and went his way, and Johns gave away a few points, too. “I think he got frustrated for sure,” Haworth said. “He gave me some free points. I’ll take them.”

Next up for the 16th-seeded Haworth is a quarterfinal matchup against Collin Shick this Friday.

Here are the payouts per tournament for the #PPA ! However, if you are not a Gold Pass PPA Player, you only receive half of the tournament earnings. So for example if a non Gold Pass Player wins singles gold at a PPA Major, they receive $5k instead of $10k. #News
