Jack Munro and Mehvish Safdar have officially entered the chat for their place in the college pickleball Mt. Rushmore.

In the DUPR Individual Championships last weekend, Munro won a gold in singles (as the 7th seed) and men's doubles, fending off 5 match points.

Safdar breezed through singles to take that trophy and overcame 8 match points in mixed doubles to win that gold as well.

While they realistically need more college results on the national stage, one thing is for sure, they have officially entered the chat!

According to Sports Media Watch, the PPA’s two-hour broadcast of Mesa Arizona Cup brought in 501,000 viewers. 📺 That made it Sunday’s 18th most-watched sporting event and gave an overall rating of 0.29, good for 17th on the day. 🏆

➡️ With those viewership numbers, pickleball outpaced installments of NCAA men’s basketball (378,000) and MLB spring training on ESPN (392,000), PGA Tour action on Golf Channel (469,000), and NHL action on TNT (265,000).

MLP x PPA merger is “imminent” 🧐
Major steps have been taken over recent days with the #MLP Board approving the latest deal, while MLP’s owners are expected to meet today and decide on the fate of the merger 👀
The #PPA has already given its stamp of approval as well, marking another positive step in the negotiations 👏
Although the merger ISN’T official just yet, all signs are pointing towards it being finalized soon and perhaps that means we could see the 2024 MLP season soon 👀🎉

🎉 Barstool Sports announced plans to host a series of pickleball tournaments set to take place throughout 2024 in the USA! 🇺🇸🏓🏆

The tournaments will be held in a pickleball party format, with the top teams in each pickleball pool moving on to the playoffs. 🔥 Pickleball teams in each of the six divisions are guaranteed a minimum of five games, and the tournaments will be played at different pickleball locations around the eastern United States. 🗺️🥒
