#MLP Commissioner Brooks Wiley stated that the equipment needed to improve paddle testing is weeks away from completion: “As identified in previous reports, the most important next step in standardizing paddle performance is to establish a correlation between direct performance measurements and deflection forces. The test equipment necessary to collect direct performance measurements will be completed within weeks,” said Brooks.“Once the deflection force and true paddle performance relationship has been established, MLP should establish paddle performance and associated ADF thresholds based on their preferred pace and style of play these thresholds will be able to be effectively monitored and policed via portable equipment similar to what has been utilized at the most recent MLP events”“Similar to the need to establish the correlation between deflection force and paddle performance, it is also important to establish a correlation between surface characteristics and paddle performance. The equipment being produced to measure direct paddle performance will also be utilized to measure spin rates, which will be correlated to surface roughness and surface friction measurements”#Pickleball #News #MLP
