Following through on dinks, especially above the waste, creates a more consistent dink! Here are 2, 6.0 Pickleball Pros that incorporate this exact concept with stellar results.
So instead of chopping or flicking dinks, creating inconsistency, focus on utilizing the same motion over and over, including the follow-through. Once you have that mastered, then you can tweak the motion to your style and preferences.

🛑STOP dinking like this!👇
🚩2 common beginner dinking mistakes I see are a chopping motion (especially on backhand dinks) and a wrist flick to get the ball over the net.
Both of these decrease repeatability, thus decreasing consistency and progression.
🔺Instead, follow through with your backhand and forehand dinks. Use your legs, shoulder and arms to follow through. You’ll notice most pros follow through high with their dinks (or at least above their waist).
🔺Don’t break your wrist at the last second when dinking. Instead keep a straight wrist. If you do break your wrist on a dink, keep that same break consistent through that dink, don’t additional wrist flexion through your dinking motion.
These changes WILL improve your consistency and progression!

Like it or not, 🎾 bangers teach us valuable lessons in the importance of touch and the ability to reset a ball – critical elements of pickleball, played at any level.
If you’re a lower-level player, at some point you’re going to Google, “how to defeat a banger,” only to realize you’ve been:
🔄 Flicking your wrist while dinking
🎾 Holding your paddle vertically instead of horizontally while trying to slow the ball down
🏓 Swinging at instead of punching those volleys in front of you at the kitchen line.

What is the biggest impedance to growing pro pickleball viewership?
🔹Travis Rettenmaier believes a pickleball equivalent to the shot clock where the point is ended within 20-30 seconds would avoid extended dinking rallies.
🔹More of a focus on nighttime streaming of pro matches would accommodate more peoples' schedules.
🔹Keeping a centralized location for all major matches – just one viewing platform – would make it easier for the uninitiated to tune in.

If your game is dominated by control and you pride yourself on the long accurate dinking battles, this is the paddle for you. Being able to consistently place the ball exactly where you want and wait for your opponents to make the mistakes is this paddle’s sweet spot. The feeling of balance makes this a great option for players that are looking to upgrade from their beginner paddle and want to find that intermediate level that will allow them to continue to improve their game. #Paddle #Review #Pickleball

The Warrior Edge is a highly enjoyable paddle for those who focus on spin, dinking, and dialed-in resets. Those at a 3.5 or higher rating will likely appreciate this subtlety most, but that is entirely dependent on how you play at any level. #Pickleball #Review #Paddle

Erick Tyce of The Dink Pickleball criticized the final between the Johns brothers and Frazier & Johnson at #PPA Las Vegas, referencing how boring it is for new fans.“If I was someone new to the sport, I can’t think of anything that could be more boring. The amount of dinking is getting to a ridiculous level”, Tyce said.“As we move forward and want to continue to grow pro pickleball, something about the men’s game is going to have to change, I just don’t know what that something is right now”#Pickleball #Pro #News
